Dana Greene has worked in photojournalism and broadcast journalism for most of her adult life. She began her professional journalism career at CBS affiliate KCBY-TV in Coos Bay, Oregon as a general assignment reporter, photographer, and part-time anchor. She then anchored and reported from the FOX (WATM) and ABC (WWCP) affiliates in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where she covered crime and the court system.
Prior to her on-air broadcast career, Dana received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Photography and minored in Political Science at Ithaca College, located in upstate New York. She then went on to get her Master of Arts in International Journalism and Public Affairs at the American University in Washington, D.C.
As a young photojournalist, Ms. Greene’s career has taken her around the world covering events and exotic locales from Southeast Asia to Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Since relocating to San Diego, she worked as a freelance writer and photographer for newspapers across the country, and became known for her nationally syndicated column, “Single Situations.” Through her writing and photography work, Dana has spent over a decade capturing the special moments in people’s lives.
Aside from her career, Dana is an avid distance runner and has participated in several marathons. She founded and organized a San Diego running club, and she enjoys skiing, sailing, traveling and just spending time with her husband, Robert, sons Spencer and Will, and their Tibetan Terrier, Brindle.
